About Saké Puppets

Nippori Meet-up

Welcome to Saké Puppets サケ パペット!  I’m Angela, nice to meet you. Thanks for joining me on all my (mis)adventures. (^_-)-☆

In 2010 I moved to Tokyo and started this blog as a way to document the food, craft, and culture of my new home in Japan. Many tales of ramen ensued. I spent days in Tokyo wandering side streets in search of craft shops and cafe lattes. I started my sashiko embroidery design shop, which you can find here, contributed to the design blog Spoon & Tamago and hosted craft classes at the English Craft Club/英語でCRAFT.

My first ebook, the Tokyo Craft Guide, is available now as a downloadable PDF. (yay!)

In 2014 I moved to Brooklyn, New York, and now have a whole new city to explore. Not surprisingly, I am still in search of ramen.

My husband, Dan, occasionally contributes to this site. He also writes for Comedy Central’s IndecisionMen’s Journal, among others. We are both available for various forms of writing and editing, contact us for details with an email to sakepuppets at gmail dot com. Thanks!

You can find other digital versions of Saké Puppets at Facebook and Flickr. And now Pinterest and Instagram.
