Angela, Saké Puppets

Angela moved to Japan from the United States in 2010, where she worked at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. Once in Tokyo, she started taking sashiko classes and was inspired to open an online web shop where she sells handmade goods and craft kits to an international audience. Her work has been featured in the New York-based design blog Design*Sponge, DIY craft blog Sew, Mama, Sew! and at Better Homes and Gardens magazine.

In her spare time, Angela enjoys all kinds of crafting, including quilting, sewing, embroidery, needlepoint, sashiko, needle felting, and anything where she can use a hot glue gun.

Kim, The Cat’s Meow

Kim is a 30-something American transplant experiencing life in Japan, one raw fish at a time.

Her career has focused on artistic leadership, the development of emerging artists, and cross disciplinary collaborations in the live performing arts.  Since moving to Japan in 2006 her work has expanded to include film, television, and digital arts.

She has worked with NHK, Toho Studios, Toei Studios, Shining Hour Entertainment, Visceral Psyche, The Wilma Theatre, Kitchen Theater, Brat Productions, UNCUT Productions, the Philadelphia Live Arts & Fringe Festival, The Virginia Opera Association, the Moscow Art Theatre, the Hangar Theater, the Yokohama Theatre Group, Black Stripe Theatre Company.

Kim is also member of Empress Tea, a collaborative blog by women around the globe.
